The
Access, a 5-piece band out of the
South Texas
area, came together in July 2006 with one goal in mind: To
change and inspire a generation, called by God to change the
world through the music that they play.
In 2008, The Access, on the RAW Music Group label, blasted their
way through three performance competitions, against a
combination of 22 other bands and soloist in the Indie Jam
Showcase on The Music Boat 2008 Cruise, all the way to the top.
After they finished their set, a standing ovation kept
judges from making final comments for several minutes as the
audience whistled and cheered. RAW Record label owner, Mark
Silvestri said at that moment, “I could only think, God is
truly ordering their footsteps.”
Winning the competition landed them the prize of a slot
on the Winter Jam 2009 Tour, Christian music’s largest tour.
Their
recent performances have included the Indie Extreme Independent
Artist Showcase at GMA Music Week 2008 at the Global Café in
Nashville
,
Tennessee
.
The have also opened for GMA and Grammy Nominated artist
Leeland.
Front man, Justin Michaels says, “Our goal is to help people.
Any kind of people. From church people to unchurched people.
Anyone who is willing to listen and if they’re willing to
listen, then we’ve got something they can listen to. We know
there’s a generation out there waiting for something real.
Something that they’ve never experienced before, and we
believe we are one of the many ministries out there that can
bring something new and fresh to a generation, lost and dying
and ready for something fresh and we know that can only come
through Jesus Christ.”
The Access has been hard at work in the studio putting the
finishing touches on the debut album titled "The Time Has
Come". Their new CD was released on September 6,
2008, at
the
Meridian
in Houston.
The Access looks
forward to performing in your town soon!
